I have already sent them a police report, a letter from the Kern County District Attorneys office, a copy of a birth certificate, a FTC Fraud Affidavit. I don't think I should have to send them ANYTHING else!

Re: Reply to my DV - What should I do?

You may want to edit your personal info out.

IMO, since it is from Time Warner and not an actual CA, I would send the information. If it were some of the pond scum that may use your info against you, then I would say no. TW was very easy for me to work with when my account went to collections. Since yours is an issue with a fraudulent account, it should be easy for them to remove. Again, JMO.

Re: Reply to my DV - What should I do?

Edited to remove personal info.

This account is both listed with Time Warner and a CA named CMI.

I feel I have sent them more than enough information and its their responsibility to validate the debt, which they have failed to do. I have sent them multiple dispute letters, DV's, and they always send me stall letters such as these. I personally don't feel safe sending a copy of my drivers license and my social security number in the mail. I already have suffered from identity theft, why the heck would I want to risk becoming a victim twice!

All they have sent me are 2 account statements when I did a DV, both statements already had a past due balance listed on them...?!

Good news is TW will pull it back from CMI.

I guess it would depend on what information you are comfortable sending. Call TW and explain you do not want to be victimized a second time. Possibly you could fax info. This day and age, with ID theft so up in numbers, you would think they would be more understanding to your situation.

Re: Reply to my DV - What should I do?

I called, and the lady I need to speak with is not in the office today. Apparently they have ONE person who handles the fraud investigations for ALL of Orange County, California.

On another note, the 714 number they provided at the bottom of the letter doesnt even work!

Is Time Warner issued it's franchise by the county?  Get them involved!!!  BTW, cable companies ddon't not like it when the county enters the fray - their franchise is at risk with a misstep.
