Response from Medical PFD request - Advice needed

So far I've sent a DV for a $30 medical collection.  They CA responded and provided me with the DV.  Since then, I've sent 2 PFD letters to them and each time they respond with a computer print out letter stating that I can pay them with check, money order, etc. and that they are trying to collect a debt, etc.  It is so frustrating!  They are just flat out ignoring my request.  So I'm planning to send a letter addressed to the President or Manager or something and get straight to the point that I want to pay the amount in full but I also want it deleted.  Any suggestions?  Should I send it CMRR?  Thanks!

Re: Response from Medical PFD request

I wanted to add an update - I was searching online for the name of the president of the CA and I found his email address.  Should I email him or something or just send the letter?  Please help! Smiley Happy

Re: Response from Medical PFD request

Since it is a PFD, try sending an email.

PFDs do not have to go CMRRR. Save your money there.

If email route don't work, address the letter specifically to him, even on envelope and mail.

Re: Response from Medical PFD request

Ok, I sent the email and just got a phone call on my cell phone from the CA!  She said to call regarding my email I sent.  Should I call?

Re: Response from Medical PFD request

I called and she was very nice but said that they no longer do PFD's.  She said they used to but not anymore.  She said after I pay it I will get a paid in full letter and they'll update the CRA's.   I told her I really want to pay it but I want it deleted from my CRs because we're buying a home next year.  She said she'll ask her supervisor and call me back.  Geez!!

Re: Response from Medical PFD request

The customer service rep still says no PFD.  Said her supervisor said no and they will only report it as PIF.  I was going to buckle and just send them the check but I decided to email them again this time to the President.  I found a bug in the printout they sent me and I'm hoping it will work.  It lists my old mailing address.  The address is the same except for the unit #.  I changed units a year ago and they still have old the number listed.

Input from some of the veterans here would be most appreciated.  Do you think I stand a chance or should I just send them the 30 bucks and be stuck with the baddie for 5 more years?

Thanks!

Re: Response from Medical PFD request

Have you tried going to the OC and seeing if they'll pull the debt back from the CA and allow you pay them. Have them request the account be deleted.

I recently had one pop up for the same amount. I wasn't present the day of service and didn't sign for treatment or payment. My spouse did. OC wouldn't pull back, wouldn't instruct to delete, and CA was an $%$ so didn't even ask for PFD. My spouse called hospital and had the account transferred out of my name, since I wasn't the one who signed.

My spouse went up and paid and has a receipt that shows the account was NOT in my name. I just mailed off the CA a nice friendly DV letter today, informing them that they have violated FDCPA, not once, but twice and urged them not to violate a 3rd time. My spouse called them after I said not to and they never did the "this is an attempt to collect a debt, any information will be used for that purpose" routine and they have never mailed me anything and especially didn't mail me nothing within 5 days of the initial communication advising me of my right to request validation or who the OC was, amount, etc.

We shall see what happens. I expect them to have the letter tomorrow or Monday.
