Retroactive HP from Discover appeared on Equifax

I opened up Credit Karma today and saw that my EQ VantageScore dropped by 7 points due to an additional inquiry. Thankfully, it wasn't fraudulent! Instead, it was an inquiry from Discover, dated May 30, 2017—the very day I applied for Discover, and on the very bureau they mentioned pulling in my welcome package. Up until now, there had been no Discover inquiries on any of my reports. Chase, Amex, Synchrony, and HughesNet, but no Discover.

I'm not mad about this; that inquiry probably should have been there in the first place. I am sort of disappointed that I didn't get the fabled SP approval, but this inquiry will stop mattering the second I'm ready for my next app, so it's no big deal. Might pose trouble for someone else, but not for me.

Has anyone else noticed this?
