Right back where i started

After bankruptcy, things looked depressing.  After repair seminar, things improved drastically, new credit applied, scores went up, things looked bright.  Then the unthinkable happens, I had a back injury and out of work for 8 months.  Medical bills stack, but credit cards and car not continue to stay up to date.  Now medical bills are in collection.  How can I straighten this out and possibly get this removed.  To add insult to injury, I have lived in the same coop for 23 years and all of the sudden, they are reporting lates to credit bureaus.  I am not one to give up but look for solutions.  IBesides trying to obtain a new job and generate some income, if you have ideas of how I can turn this situation into a good comeback story, please share.

Re: Right back where i started

Redi, you have just described my worst nightmare. I also had BK because of a major loss of income and medical bills.

First of all, have you found work yet? If so, you may be able to write your creditors and GW the lates away. Explain your sitution and how important your credit has become to you because of your previous history.  They mau be hesitant to believe it, but you can also explain that a friend (love to be) suggested that this may help solve the problem before it gets out of hand.  They may close your credit cards until they are completely paid down, but that is a small price to pay to keep from going through credit hell once again.

Did you have insurance for the medical bills? If not see if your local Family and children services have any programs to help out under indigent care.  Most hospitals have them and soe states.

Best of Luck
