SCUMSUCKING ZOMBIE CA help please?

Received a letter today from ALW Sourcing, LLC - Creditor NCO Portfolio Management today for a "debt + interest" for a company I have never heard of.  To top that off, it is in my maiden name, which means even if had heard of them before it would have been 18+ years ago.  What is the most efficient way to deal with this?  My credit report is clean and I want to keep it that way.  I just looked them up on the ripoff report website, and it seems to be a really common scam with them.  Help please!

Send them a cease-comm letter, include the debt is SOL

for collections through suit and reporting

Sorry, but what is a cease comm letter?  I understand the term DV, but not sure about a cease?

C&D letter = cease and desist.  In it you would tell the CA the debt they are trying to collect is beyond SOL and to cease all communications with you over this debt.

If you watch your CR then you can just trash the letter. They have a right to mail you letters but can not report to the CRAs!  If they call you then I would mail them a C&D or what we call a FOAD letter.

Does that mean what my imagination tells me it may mean???  Does it include "off and die" as the last three words?

lol, yes it does.

It's what you would send to zombie debt collectors who are hoping that they can intimidate you into paying them for something that might well not even be your debt.

Thanks LynetteM for the question!

I have seen this before and could not even speculate what it meant.

Thanks for the info.  Especially like the FOAD response letter!!  HappyDays, if you're still on here - you say if I watch my credit reports I can just ignore the whole thing?  I use TC to monitor monthly.  After all this work I really don't want these shysters to get this onto my reports.  Thanks again.
