UPDATE: LN report shows wrong name and wrong addresses on my report. Thinking about filing a dispute.
I'm not sure if this means anything or not but would like some feedback. DH and I have lived at our current address for 25 yrs. and starting last week I am getting my sil's mail, everyday. (pre-approvals, magazines, etc.) My sil and I have the same name except middle name. In all these years it's never been an issue until recently..maybe because I started recently building my credit perhaps?
If you do not intend of seeking credit any time soon you can lock your credit with each of the three bureaus.

Yes, thank you! I bought all 3 bureaus plus MyFico for myself and DH recently to do just that, lock down and monitor. If anyone else knows of something else I should do for us or Ex-sil I would appreciate it.
send the mail back with it written on the front of the mail, circle the name and address,
add the wording;
"Does not live at this address, Return to Sender"

I have been doing that but it's probably too soon. I asked the mail lady what should I do, same answer. She has been hand delivering our mail since this has started up because she has seen the same person I ran off recently, after digging through our trash can, and has reported it to her Supervisor who then reported to law. I think this is the reason I'm concerned......I keep thinking about that hobo bee-yacht I chased away. Also the timing...my neice sent us a second Graduation announcement because we didn't get the first one (which would have been about the same time- we think).
You have kind of simlar problem as DW. Another person has same first name, mi, last name same month and year for birthdate and same line of work as dw. They live about 15 miles away and were the bigest dead beat in the world. Skip tracers kept claiming DW was her. DW got many nasty collection calls where they claimed she was the other woman and she said no and don't call / contact me. Several tried to sue DW not believing DW. DW over nnumber of years collected over $25,000 in FDCA suits, became bff with the judge in small claims who it got to the point as soon as she walk up to the stand,he gave DW whatever she wanted, had one attorney suspended and fined because he did not believe DW, her attorney or the judge. He was sure they were the same person. It became a hobby for DW. Once we did have to fight EXP to get incorrect info removed. Usually it was fairly straight foward. Good luck I would freeze my reports
Update on first post, I think I was right. So now that I know her former addresses, along with her name is on my report what should I do?
Contact each of three agencies with a copy of the report indicating the incorrect accounts. Explain in detail her full name and birthdate and your full name and birth date. You need to send this certified mail. If they give push back file a cfpb complaint. If that still does not do the trick hire a CONSUMER ATTORNEY to file suit. Don't worry about the cost it will be on them. You should also contact each creditor indivually.

That sounds like a nightmare!! Starting to be a little grateful that my name is somewhat unique / not too common.

The first time or two it bothered DW but by then she found out she could make a lot of money on their stupid mistakes. DW is now on web recon a list debt collectors can subcribe to of people who will sue collection agencies regularly. That kind of cut down on her side income.
Most firms scrub her name very quickly as if she files a suit (Federal Court) it costs them over $10,000 between her, her attorney and their attorney.
