SOL - Help!!!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question. I recently checked my TU report and I have a number of delinquents that I haven't paid on in so long (since approx 2004).  I am in the process of clearing up my credit, but on my report it says that they are due to expire in 2012 and that the close date was 2006? They should expire according to the SOL in CT in 2010. How is this possible and how do I go about getting this changed or is that even possible?

Thanks!

Re: SOL - Help!!!

No- this is a common misunderstanding.

Your State SOL determines how long they can Sue you.

FCRA allows these to report for 7 years past DOFD (Date of first delinquency)

Nothing keeps them from trying to collect indefinitely.
