SOL? and charge offs?

Hello, I am new to the board and I have been reading a lot of information. I have a question about a charged off account which has been charged off since 2001. The debt was sold in 2005 to Calvary Portfolio services who have re-aged the account and it shows as a new tradeline on my bureau which is driving my score down. The original debt is now older than 7 years. can they show this as a new debt even though the account was from 2001? Can I dispute this with the bureau that they are collecting on an old debt and have that removed? they are reporting me late every month and it is hurting my score.

The best way to if it has been re-aged is to pull your org. report from TU and/or EX from their sites. On that report in the listing for Calvary you will see a line that says "estimated date for removal is xx/xx" or something like that. Take that date and subtract 7 yrs. and that will give you the DOFD. If that removal date says anything but 2008, and you are certain about the 2001 CO, then it has been re-aged.

You can then dispute via each CRA CMRRR and include a copy of the older report to show them that it was re-aged (or old statements, letters, etc.).
