SOL in Ohio

What is the sol in Ohio?  i've heard it was one of the longest states.  i also lived in IL for 5 years and a few of my old debts were from that state.  does the sol apply to where the debt was originated, the state you live in now or what?  confused.  i recently got a new mortgage and now old collection accts are coming out of the woodwork- and somehow they all know i recently got a mtg even though the account has yet to begin reporting since we just closed 1 1/2 months ago.  just worried some old collection acct may try to put a lien on our house down the road.  any advice?

what are the CA from? were they CO from CC??

it was from Asset Acceptance and Arrow and both are no longer on my credit report they are so old.  They were charged off back when i was in college.  one was Fidelity bank and the other was Bank first.  i am worried b/c Asset acceptance filed a judgement against me (which is now on my CR for 7 years in 2003) from an old discover card from 94 which was 10 years old, no longer on my credit report but they still sued me.  it was only a card with $1000 cl but they sued me for $2,224 which i had to pay.  i always thought they wouldn't sue unless it was a huge amount but not the case.  Anyway, i have been working so hard to clean up my credit and it has been a long hard road, but it seems never ending when your state's SOL is 15 years!
