SOL

When do you need to use the SOL to your advantage? Is it only if you get sued? Or do you use it in debt validation letter if it is past the SOL period?

Re: SOL

SOL has nothing to do with validation (other than it can provide you proof of the SOL date).  It can come into play when offering a PFD (hey, CA, you have no other way to get money from me unless I give it to you willingly and I will only if you delete).

SOL is a factor if it hasn' run and you DV - the CA knows you are there and may choose to sue you.  If you can't afford to pay and SOL hasn't expired then a DV might not be the preferred route until SOL has run.

Before I DV the CA Midland, should I verify the DOLA with the CRA? The reason I ask is because the dates differ from the OC and Midland and also on all 3 CRA's.
