I posted part of this to another thread but I've edited out the other stuff and really need some specific help/advice/vodoo dolls about this situation. Since November I have resolved 56 collections/derag from my accounts. I am about to look like a bright and shinning star. I'm still a little low (mid-600's) but I've discovered it's because I've paid off my mortgages, have no installment loans, only use 3 cards which I pay in full each month, but they are often near their max, and then i had that other mess. I have seen the light by reading the threads here and fortunately learned how to begin, grasshopper that I am. Anway, I have spent at least 200 hours over the last 7 weeks getting this str8t and besides stating the obvious - these collection agency confabulating bufooons are
XX!#X#! - the unimaginable happened last night. I discovered that Oxford Management had, without my consent, permission, knowledge, voodoo dance or bowing to the queen, paid off a $786.96 withdrawn collection with the credit card I had given them to pay a $293.21 bill, that I contacted them about voluntarily, since it was easier to pay it then to dig up all the paperwork to fight it.. This $787 collection has been w/d by the oc, was never owed, and i didn't even know this ca had the old paper. I made notes of the conversation when I paid the $293 bill, in fact they offered to accept $105 as full payment, but I wanted it removed, which they would do for the full amount. I have the name and extension number of the person who I resolved this matter with, whom I have been calling for the last 30 days to send me the promised verifying fax about the account being settled, (to no avail, duh) (shakes head in disqust.) (Needless to say, I paid this account BEFORE I started reading this thread.) He first said "I missed the fax deadline" then the next call "It was mailed" then the next and the next "It's in the mail" (bites lip to keep from repeating that old, old joke!) and then last Thursday, he swore it would go out "in the 3 o'clock faxes" when I told him my deceased husband was an Italian, Republican, Marine, Attorney with living friends. Never, ever, at any time in the course of my conversation(s) with him was this other Creditor/collection/amount discussed with him. Buy chance I discovered this yesterday when I was reviewing a cc bill that had just come in, which unfortunately I still do not routinely do (one step at a time, she says to herself) and I thought what is $786.96 to "paymybill"?!?!?!! After sitting down and frantically scrambling through these zillions of copies I've created over the last seven weeks to find the hard facts, I called Oxford about this last night, speaking to a "manager" who wanted me to stop payment on my cc account, but I am afraid this will backfire on me and cause a new series of collections (the $786 was for a stop pay check for merchandise I never received and when i went back to the store to pick it up, "it had been sold by mistake" and instead of waiting 15 days for my check to clear for a refund or getting a store credit, the store mgr and I agreed I would put a stop pay, and he gave me a $25 store voucher for my trouble).
I am sure (clicks ruby red shoes and grabs Todo) this is federal wire fraud. I want Oxford to issue a credit, and fire the guy. I actually wanted him shot at sunrise. This was paper Certergy sold to Oxford mgmt. Any suggestions?
