Re: Score Building Need Help!!!

I had a credit card that carried a high balance and then the credit card company lowered my limit. I've since paid off the balance and closed the account ( that was before I found this website). Both high balance and credit limit show on the credit report and the account shows current and closed, Does this affect my score? My utilization?

I will take everything that you guys have said into consideration, I never let my all of my cc's report a balance of zero, i let at least one report something but always under ten percent utilization.  Maybe after my one year mark I will see an increase.  Also, Medgrrl I did have a lot of inquires last year with EQ. (i think about 9 or 10)

Andy, the previous poster is correct. All accounts on your report affect your score one way or another.

I suppose the most obvious evidence comes from posts by members with high-ish util who add a new card with a good-sized CL, lowering their util, and their scores improve the moment that the card shows up on reports.
