Just got approved for vs angels card over the weekend. However today myfico score dropped 4 points to 645. I am so bummed. I had no idea a hard inquiry and new account would cost me so much. And I just got preapproval for a Express card yesterday. I guess I have to just stop and garden but I'm pretty depressed.

Do not beat yourself up over 4 points... You don't need a ton of cards to get a higher score if that's what you want.

Do not sweat over the 4 points.. you will get them back with time. If it makes you feel better I just lost 48 points this months for number of accounts reporting a balance and it is not yet all 9

4 points is peanuts, an inquiry and new acct usually cost me 20-30 points for a few months, it will recover.. Grats on your approval(s)

It probably depends on the bucket each of us is in. For me a new account is also 15-20 points at least. But it usually gets the points back in 3-6 months. Enjoy your new card
