Score increase? +24 point?

Can someone explain this?

Oh man!

This just happened to me with Macy's this week.  I hope I get those kind of points as a result.

Re: Score increase? +24 point?

When you dispute an account, other than a collection or pubic record, it is not used in calculating your score. If the derog was recent, your scores can take an immediate (and temporary) hop.

Don't fall too in love with the new scores --if the derog is not removed, they'll go right back where they were.

That account was not a derog, it was a perfect account, paid on time, paid in full, and then closed due to lack of use.

Well, now that IS weird. I don't see why you'd get such a huge jump from that. It's three and a half years old, so it's not hurting you with newness. I'm stumped!

Re: Score increase? +24 point?

WooHoo!!!

I just got an 11 point bonus from Midland being fully disputed on EQ!!!!  I love seeing Scorewatch alerts that have "+" in them!

Of course, they'll probably put it back on before I find a bulldog attorney to bite Midland in the tuchas.

but at least I know the relative value of this annoying collection:  11 measly points.

On to lowering UTL.

Re: Score increase? +24 point?

I didnt dispute anything on this account.

I had disputed a another account with Chase showing as a duplicate, it was not a baddie either but it was showing as OPEN and CURRENT so I wanted it deleted.
