My credit score has been stuck at 668 (on experian) for about 8 months now. It just will not seem to budge. My ch 7 bnk was discharged in march of 2018--is about 4 and a half years old. My Equifax score is 670 +- a few points. My Transunion is at about 720. I still have about 40k in deferred student loan debt and am making payments on a 10k car loan with no late payments. As far as CC goes I have about 6 cards in total/ 2 with NFCU/ 2 w Capital One & a Venmo Card and a Fortiva Card. I think my total CL between these is about 18k. It does not seem to matter how little debt I have on my CCs--as I have gone multiple months in a row with a zero balance, or well below a 15 percent utilization rate. The average age of my accounts is 5 years old, with the oldest being 16. When I declared Ch7 I had been following standard practice of stop payment from the months beforehand, when you meet with the lawyer. From those several months, I have around 8 late payments. I have read about others getting these removed from certain bureaus; but I have no idea how to do that, or if it would even do anything? Are those late payments going to stay until it is actually discharged? I am assuming those are the main reasons my score not budging? Any help would be so appreciated, I feel so stuck.

Welcome to the forums @JessDS
Well your EX score is FICO. TU & EQ must be CK. Dont go by them. Anything that happened before BK stays. Asking to have lates removed when you claimed BK and the creditor lost $. That wont go over well. Disputes are for innaccuarate info. Dont dispute hoping they'll be removed. Having all accounts report 0 you lose points. Even though you said once in a while it's <15%. 4 yrs out you should have higher scores. Did you happen to leave anything out? Something's missing.

Your statement that your scores do not change even with different utilization levels does not square with anything I have ever seen or experienced. Usually the best thing you can do to move your scores is improve utilization.
If you give us a precise breakdown of your revolving accounts, with limits and reported balances, and of your installment loans, with loan amount and current balance, we can give you some tips.
As to getting rid of lates, they decrease in negative effect with the passage of time. Sometimes sending verification letters to the bureaus, asking them to verify their information, hastens the process of getting them dropped.
i have the same issue with experian. no matter what happens it just wont budge. its been stuck for quite some time. it dropped last february when i did an auto loan refi. both loans reported for 1 month. after the correction, it went back up less than the amount it dropped. since then EQ & TU have grown and fluctuated accordingly with changes, but not experian. utilization is always between 1-3% and the only other debt i have is my auto loan. changes in utilization, inquiries & new accounts added havent moved the experian needle in months, despite identical data on all 3 cra's.

This also happened to me. Ive only been closely monitoring my credit score for the past 2-3 months because I want to make it better. Ive been suscribed to experian app for years. You can go back to 11 months to see your acore history. My score had been stuck at 653 since Feb all the way to July so for 6 months, I had 65% overall utilization across 18 credit cards. I had an inquiry on June for a personal loan no change. On July I had a $10k personal loan account reported and a Retail credit card, uitlization went down to 45%, no change. On August I had a $8k car loan report and a new $6.5k credit card reported, score has gone up 14 points. Biggest in change in months. Ive paid down over $10k on credit card debt and score barely moves. I have a late payment from May 2021 my score dropped from 663 to 621. It was up to 663 in 6 months on Dec 2021. From then, score wasnt moving much till this month again. The best thing too is not to obsess too much on the score number and just keep paying down your utilization. To maximize your score like others have mentioned is to leave a small balance on one card and leave the other ones at $0. 1-4% utilization individual from 1 card and aggregate 1-4% as well.
I'm 4 1/2 yrs post discharge and my TU8 has been very stagnant the last number 4 months that I've had fico scores generated again. TU8 just doesn't move for me at this stage with no accounts being a year old. AZEO at 9%, 5%, and 2% give me the same score as 2 of 2 cards reporting at 10% and 6% respectively. Each of those 4 months (not in order) were at 656 for TU8 and FWIW it was the only non mortgage score to not move. Prior to these my last score was generated in January (not enough history for scores from feb-apr) when I had student loan with an 18yr age (baddie paid off a few yrs before CH7) report for the last time . I had only 1 card then at 47% which gave me a 657 TU8.
