Hello, LN-OPM out of ALPHARETTA, GA has hit my TRN credit file twice on 5/22 and once on 5/29. I have not contacted them yet but why would they hit it 3 times and does this count as 3 different hits?
Yes. FCRA 604 does not limit the frequency of credit pulls, it only requires that they are for a permissible pull.
Every application for a national security clearance includes your acknowledgment of permission to pull your CR.
So do these credit inquiries just keep racking up? Or do I have 3 separate inquires on my file or 1 since it was within the last 30 days from the same company?
Credit pull for a background investigation don't count in your FICO score.
I guess I don't understand because ultimately an inquiry actually helps in lowering a score I thought? How does the system know it's a pull for a security investigation and plus it sticks on my file for 2yrs correct.
As was said it will not impact your score. The way the inquiry is coded determines what impact it has. They can pull it 1,000 times and it will still have no impact. For my investigation it was only one time, I have no idea why they would pull multiple from the same bureau.
Not true. I had a credit inquiry from a background investigation. The directly resulted in a 10-15 point drop in my Equifax. Equifax cited the inquiry as the reason for the drop. I had no balance increases or any other factors.
