Send or not to send GW Letter

I need some help on GW Letter. On my CR I have 3 accounts that show  legally paid in full for less than the full balance. The 1st One is only on EX. The 2nd account has only EX and EQ.The 3rd account has EQ and TU. All three are from Wells Fargo Finance. Should I send a gw letter? If they do not accept will  all 3 accounts show up on all three CR? I want to fax them in the morning They gave me a # 1-800-231-5089 to fax, to they said it was the CRA. 1 will fall off in jan 08, 2nd in june 08, 3rd feb 09. What should I do?

Thanks

Re: Send or not to send GW Letter

I say send the GW letters. I have sent three and been successful with all three.  I posted a copy of one of my GW letters earlier today in another thread. I could dig it back up if you want to see it.

I am now a HUGE believer in the power of a GoodWill letter.  "Write" on.

Thanks KEVKAOS I will do just that. I talked with Wells Fargo on the phone today  and they said they will take it off but they wanted me to dispute it by fax.So I guess I will try that. I hope it will help my credit score. Now it's at 722 TU  627 EQ   658 EX

What are you asking them for?  To show paid in full without the "settled for less than balance" statement?

Re: Send or not to send GW Letter

Will they do that? take off "settled for less than the full balance"? I just called MBNA and asked if they would do that for me. Oh! a little history- I had an MBNA card that I recently settled...the credit reports are showing settled, less than the full balance, balance $0. Should I try sending a GW letter?

Send them! Also, CRAs don't share info with each other.

Oh, ok.  I was thinking they might just take off the comment to show paid.  That way you wouldn't lose age.  I hope it wokrs out for you.  If so, let us know.  I have a paid Wells Fargo auto account with lots of lates. I don't really want the TL deleted as it is one of the oldest accounts on my EQ report.

Re: Send or not to send GW Letter

Kooliad,

I don't know about sending the GW's at this point.  Your scores are really good and it doesn't appear that those comments are really hurting your score and they are going to come off next year anyway.  Tuscani, one of the moderators has taught us that sometimes things backfire.  I had a 2 get deleted this week and my scores dropped by 20 points.  I am not devastated over it because I know that I can get those points back, however, if this was a good TL based on the age of it, is it worth it to get it deleted and lose the age for your credit history?  Is it your oldest TL?  Think about all of that before you fax them anything to delete it.  You could be sorry you did it. Do you want it off because of a purchase or can you wait and just let it fall off on its own next year?

Just wandering.
