Sending GW

Can I send it by email or is it better to send it by mail?

Re: Sending GW

Either is fine. You don't need a paper trail or anything like that.

Re: Sending GW

Yes, since GW is something the company in question does voluntarily, there's no need to have documentation. Phone, letter, e-mail, carrier pigeon--whatever method of communication works best for you. The key is persistence.

Re: Sending GW

And don't do the certified mail thing with GW's. You're not trying to prove that someone got it, and having to sign for mail will only irritate people.

Re: Sending GW

OH CRUD!  I sent GW letters to First Premier and HSBC.  I was pretty much asking for a lot too!  Before finding these forums, I paid a CA on belhalf of FP, for less than.  This was only because they wanted their money that same day instead of taking payments, which I was willing to do to pay in full.  Well, 3 or so months later I found this place and started looking at my credit reports and OF COURSE, the collections is still there.  Not knowing better, I disputed it and another First Premier as included in bankruptcy.  They were both updated with a current date and I was told that the account that was included in the bankruptcy, will now fall off when my bankruptcy does 5 years from now, instead of later this year!

With HSBC I sent GW letters to see if they would remove old charge offs and accounts scheduled to come off later this year or next.  I pointed out my good recent history with them.

I sent a PFD letter to a collections agency, figuring I know a little bit more about this stuff now.  I am amazed that, when on the phone, these people would decline to remove a measly 69.00 charge in return for payment!

Anyway, I sent all of this certified mail.  I thought it was the right thing to do.  Smiley Indifferent

I think it will be OK. I figure that in big companies, some receptionist somewhere is the one who has to sign, and so whoever reads it might note the CMRRR, but wouldn't be the one getting bugged.

I just figure that when I'm groveling, as in sending GW's, I want to be as ingratiating as possible! Smiley Very Happy (This way, you can save some $$, too.)
