Seriously Chase???

Chase pulled 2 hard inquries for my 2 credit cards in september when i was asking CLI. They denied to increase it and pulled 2 hard inquries on my EX(i checked it on experian.com report)

Can i dispute that? or any way to remove those 2 inquries? it hurts my credit score i guess. Thanks

Unfortnately, there's nothing to dispute. If you requested a CLI, they can (and frequently do) do a hard pull. But, since you were denied the CLI, you might try a little goodwill, asking them (very, very nicely) if they'll recode those hards as a soft. From what I've read of Chase, it's probably a longshot, but it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck!

Thank LilMirth. I'll try. If i knew it, i wouldn't ask for CLI ... i am starting to dislike chase now.

Re: Seriously Chase???

I agree with Mirth.  Technically, there is no such thing as a "hard" or "soft" pull under any provision of the FCRA,  It is eiether a permissible pull, or it is not.

So then it all comes down to how the inquiree chooses to code their credit pull. They have approx. 12 codes under which to report the basis for a credit pull.

Some are sciored by FICO, and some are not.  "Soft" vs "'Hard" is not a disputable issue under the FCRA.

Re: Seriously Chase???

Chase always pulls a hard for a customer-initiated CLI request.

They're famous for this.

As a result, I expect that my Freedom will be stuck at $3,500 forever, because I'm not authorizing a hard for something that might or might not happen.  Smiley Indifferent
