Re: Setting up for FICO scoring changes

I know.  I think I'm going to ask my Mom to add me as a joint account holder instead.  The age of these cards is really giving me a boost.

After 6 months an account changes from new to established. Thats why when you open a new credit account you dont really see a huge boost in score until after the 6th month.

Re: Setting up for FICO scoring changes

They look at average length of all accounts, time since first revoloving account opened, and average length of open accounts.  So it really depends what your overall mix is.

For me, with few open cards, losing one old one is bad.
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
