Settlement Letter and PFD

I was on the phone with a collection. we talked about the debt that I own and they agreed to give me a settlement. I asked them I would agree to the settlement and that would like them to send me a copy of the agreement we talked about and they did. They actually faxed me a copy of the agreement, emailed me one and sent one to me via US Postal mail. The settlement agreement includes name of the OC, Client #, CA ID #, State Lic #, the Original Balance of $1197.79. A settlement amount also included in the form of 3 breakdown monthly payments of $150 by Dec 2007, $285 by Jan 2008 and another $285 by Feb 2008 for a total $720. It states in the agreement that upon receipt and clearance of funds, your account will be settled in full and signed by the CA rep I talked to over phone. Do I still need to write them a PFD letter?

Re: Settlement Letter and PFD

You will need a PFD letter signed by them. The way the wording is now from their letter. It is a settle for less and will probably be reported to the CRA's that way. Don't do anything intill they agree with the account being removed from your credit reports.
