Should I dispute this?

Long story short, I made a purchase for $61 on Ebay. Tracking shows delivered, but I don't have it. The Post Office is looking into it, but She thinks it was most likely stolen. The Ebay seller is completely unresponsive and won't say anything other then sending the tracking number repeatedly. After looking around online, Ebay is going to side with the seller because of tracking. Should I dispute with Chase? I don't think the seller really did anything wrong other then the way they're handling it. At the same time I don't think I should be out $60. They could make a claim with USPS on the insurance, but because of how they have been acting I doubt they will unless I somehow win the Ebay claim or dispute. What do you guys think?

I would.... Paypal is a pack of thieves go directly to Chase. I used to be a huge seller on Ebay, I can tell you a lot of these are people who are trying to stuff the seller so that is why likely only responds like has, some of them are legit but you just dont know, filing a claim is no walk in the park either with USPS.. The seller is going to need your cooperation and signature to do so.. Good luck Smiley Happy

Re: Should I dispute this?

If a credit card was used, you have a credit card billing issue that is covered under the Fair Credit Billing Act.

I would look into a complaint with your credtitor under the FCBA.

Re: Should I dispute this?

Guess I'll dispute as soon as the Ebay case is finished. I'd like to give Ebay and the seller a chance to actually do something. I pay for everything with credit cards just in case something does come up like this. It just sucks to actually have to do it. On the other hand it's exactly why I prefer banks like Chase and AMEX.

Re: Should I dispute this?

Let the eBay process run through.  If you paid via Paypal then try using their process as well since they tend to favor the buyer.  Then use your credit card's protections, if needed.

It's not just banks that offer such protections.  Many credit cards do.

All credit cards do, however some are much easier to dispute with.
