SoFi in 15 Days

I got an invitation through the mail and apped on Thursday, March 31. The funds are in my bank this morning.

49K at a fixed rate of 10.375%. Total term: 60 months.

The most expensive car I ever bought was just under $25,000, so only my mortgage tops this loan amount.

Now, it's time to pay those credit cards. ...

Re: SoFi in 15 Days

Congrats on the quick turn around with SoFi.com. Let us know how your scores change over the next month as you pay off your cards.

I obtained my SoFi.com loan in February and they finally reported the account this week (April 12). There is a window in there where you credit cards are paid off and the loan has not reported that make it a good time to apply for other products IF you want/need them.

There are a few sites that will ask if you have applied for credit in the last month (DCU). Rather than mess with the process with DCU I went with PenFed. 1 Equifax HP and you can open multiple products. I refinanced an auto loan (saving 3%), received a Visa, a PLOC, Checking, Savings and Overdraft account.

Not trying to convince you to get more credit but you certainly have an opportunity once the cards are paid off. Also, SoFi will use their same HP for student loan refinance if anyone is interested.

As an aside my score has gone up and did not fall back when the SoFi loan hit the credit files which was a bonus.

Congrats!

Re: SoFi in 15 Days

Student loans are long gone, but a mortgage refinance might make sense. My rate's already great, though, so it's an open question whether I could top it.

I do need a 2% daily card, though. ;-)

SoFi denies me every time I try, and my score is higher. It's more than just score.

Check stubs showing year to date salary and deductions.

Double Cash probably makes the most sense, but I like to limit cards per creditor, and I'll be getting my Costco card from Citi in June.

Fidelity looks good, though redemption is more complicated, and I've already got a US Bank card.

Then there's Blispay. Good terms and a totally new creditor, but where will these guys be in a year?

Decisions. ... Decisions. ...
