So I was reviewing my EQ report today and Cap1 is all over my soft pulls. However, it shows up two ways. One as Cap1 US card Service and the other as just Cap1. What is the difference?
Under the description on one of the Cap1 was soft pull right after account review. When it's Cap1 US card (which is quite often recently) there's never a description. I'm hoping it means I may be going to be eligible to graduate or at least a CLI. Or is this just normal for Cap1?
That's typical from them sometimes. One of those pulls could be from an account review, while another could be to check to see if you
meet eligibility requirements for them to extend any other offers of credit to you, or to advertise a promotion you may be eligible for. While you would think they would use a single pull for that, the lending department and the promotional advertising department probably don't share that kind of info, or at least something to that effect. Once companies become that large it seems as though the right hand not talking to the left becomes more typical. When you look at your TU report you'll see weekly pulls from them if you're subscribed to credit wise as well.

When my SO had higher util, they were SP'ing him near daily for a few months. Once util came down and scores went up again, the SPs have all but stopped.
On the other hand, they have only SP me maybey 2 or 3 times in 1 year. The last time being right before giving me an auto-cli.
If there are aot of pulls, maybe they dont like a recent change and want to see what is going on and when it resolves?
Also, Cap one pulls, I noticed could be from a couple things. From account reviews (i have seen two different names for them listed) to promo reviews to Creditwise updates to pre-approval request SPs.
I appreciate the responses y'all. So my uti was maybe a lil high... Took care of that this morning. That had to be it because I have the Cap1 secured and only 3 months in.

I bet that is absolutely it.
They have been graduating cards again, so they are probably keeping a very close eye on your credit profile/behavior. My SO also has the secured card and it sounds like you both had a similar run with them.
Its crazy how Cap 1 always sP but whenever you request a CLI and you get denied they always have a 3 month old credit score as a reference. I dont understand that.
