Speeding Ticket

I am trying to decide whether to fight a speeding ticket by weighing the effects on various areas of my life if I plead "no contest" (which has the same consequences as guilty plea I think?).  I'm assuming it won't go on my credit report as long as I pay it on time.  I know it will affect car insurance rates.  As far as long-term consquences to tarnishing my perfect driving record:  will issuers of credit ever check my driving record?  How often do employers request to see driving record(only if you drive a company car?)?  Are there other entities like health insurance companies that would check driving record?

Thanks for your help.

Plea bargain the ticket down to a no point ticket. Speak to the prosecutor lots of people do this. It will for sure cost more initially. This is the standard way to approach tickets in court. Some who travel a less travelled road will fight this ticket using other means but that discussion is not for this forum. They really have no jurisdiction.

Re: Speeding Ticket

If it is your first ticket (within a year) you can go to that driving course and then it doesnt show on your driving record.  Anyway thats what they say you can do in TX. Our insurance lady told us abt that but it was too late my son had already paid the ticket.  Good Luck Vicki
