Does anyone have any experience with split files on Equifax?
anyone?
Anyone with any news on this? PenFed closed my accounts with them because of this issue. Equifax is saying their system cannot handle my file so they cannot merge it. I've talked to the executive office and everyone. According to Equifax, I have poor credit because the only file that creditors are pulling is the bad one (seems like they put all the good stuff together and all the bad stuff on the other one). I'm at a point of suing and will be in contact with an attorney for damages as they have ruined my credit picture to companies that use EQ. I'm in Atlanta so 90% of companies I deal with use EQ.
I have a split file on EQ. I'm trying to get it fixed.

If you have sent in your driver's license and SSN Card in the last year, they can pull it up and merge the report if the report is not TOO big. I'm being told mine it too large to merge so it doesn't work for me but it might work for you. Call them up and tell them to merge but do that after you fax in your info.

Yes, I have that info ready to send to them.
Good luck to those with this problem. I can't imagine what a pain it might be.
I'm wondering if EQ is having bigger issues.
I looked tonight and my EQ report has not had any alerts for almost a month. Last alert was 2/9 and it's now 3/3.
I have 14 tradelines that I'm paying on and I receive multiple alerts from FICO every week. At first I thought it was FICO but my EQ account - free with the breach - is showing 2/9 as the last alert.
Something is definately up. I can't imagine all my creditors just joining together and saying, "Let's not report to EQ any longer".
Good luck to both of us!

Paul
Silly question but how does a split file happen and what can one do to take preventive measure to insure it does not happen to them.
Those having the problem I’m sorry it’s happening to you.
