Starting from scratch

Hi everyone, I just came to a rude awakening regarding my true credit scores. I subscribed to a credit monitoring company that gave me one set of numbers unfortunately, when I checked my true score at my FICO there was approximately a 100 point variance. I honestly feel like I have to start all over again.It appears that I may have closed too many accounts after paying them off. If I open new ones I'll have too many new accounts open. How should I handle this ? Should I request some of the old accounts paid in good standing be re-opened? If anyone out there can give me some sound advice I would greatly appreciate it Thanks...

Try to get any of the closed accounts re-opened. Unless they are costing you money in monthly or annual fees, it is definitely worth it to try. Even if they are costing you a fee, once you get it re-opened, in 3-6 months try to get the fee waived or eliminated. Ask if you want some pointers. Lots of folks here have had success and most will share their success.

Re-opening accounts should be your first line of attack.
