Still learning "A few simple questions "

Thank all of you for all help. I'm still reading and learning a lot but need a few simple questions answered.
1. Should EVERYTHING be sent CMRRR or can you send some "DCR" (Delivery Confirmation Receipt) ?
2. If you have one CA reporting more then one item can you mail the items all in one envelope or each singlely ?
3. During a time when I was homeless from hiding from my EX I had a couple medical bill come up for $624.00, one at $130.00 and the other an ambulance ride for $1054.00 what would be a could settlement on those. My current husband, who is actually really my boyfriend I guess, but lets me use his name so I wont be found (due to abusive EX I'm scared to file divorce) can not afford to pay much at this time but we would like to be fair. He is also trying to work on his Credit Repair.

I would say CMRRR......what is your SOL?
Most states have no SOL on hospital bills  BUT other medical bills go by SOL.

Put aside money and work them 1 at a time.
If not past SOL I wouldn't touch them ...until I could afford to pay. That is why SOL is important

We are in "Montana" so I think Open Accts 5 yrs , Written Contracts 8 yrs, these are Emergency Room and walk in clinic charges plus an ambulance ride that i had refused but was forced to take

Actually, hospital bills in most states DO have an SOL.  Hospital bills are typically treated as "closed-end contracts" or "written contracts" in most states.

SpunkyOne - This is totally OT, and none of my business, but please consider getting some legal help from Legal Aid or the bar associations in your state (pro bono section) for your family law issues.  Living in fear is no way to live.  Again, excuse me for butting in.

Re: Still learning "A few simple questions "

Go see a lawyer immediately!

You can get a restraining order and 'notification' can be made to your lawyer (not you) during the divorce.  Get him out of your life permanentl.  DO not choose to live in fear, he wins if you do.  Most jerks like this can't deal with someone that stands up to them.

ALL states have DV assistance - at no cost to you - including financial counseling, psychological counseling, legal advice and representation, etc

NO jen   because tax payers must pick up hospital bills...most states do not include them in SOL

Re: Still learning "A few simple questions "

Thanks all, been to see legal aide lawyer, we even filed the divorce, he did find out and he did find me at the batter women's shelter, they asked me to leave for safety of other women and children, he even found me at a job i was working under the table, need not say what happen, he never gets arrested, lawyer thought it better to stop divorce and try again next year in another way. I'd leave state but my kids who are now grown and have babies wont, they wouldn't then either. The guy i am with now I've know most my life and he tries to keep me safe by my not working but it isn't helping my credit any so we can move and buy a home. He has credit issues we are trying to work on also. I do go to counseling.

SpunkyOne - I'm sorry about the situation with your ex.  You are a survivor and your screen name fits you perfectly. I had a crazy ex at one point too, but that was before all the DV laws were enacted.  I'll keep you in my prayers.  Please keep us posted.
