My chevron credit card was closed on Feb this year due to bk filing by mistake. After canceling the filing, I called Chevron but got a reply that I cannot access the account nor they can process a payment and was told to wait until their bk department handle the issue.
Then I called back on April, (they still haven't sent me a bill nor notice to pay), and tried to request a bill, but got denied again. They couldn't even tell me how much I owe.
My request finally got through on June, but they still refused to take payment, saying that the account is transferred to collection agency. They did, however, sent me a paper simply stating the amount I owe. They told me I will be receiving a mail which then I'll be able to make a payment. After waiting 6 month in vain (no call, no mail) I simply decided not to bother calling them anymore.
Then today, they updated the account status to bad dept/collection, dropping my score by 31. I do not have collection fild just yet (pulled out a new report, but none under collection), and yes I still have no idea who i'll be paying. Chevron(GE Money) won't even take phone pay.
Can anyone advise me how to handle this mess? Do I call GE money again?
Who is reporting the OC correct? Do everything by mail. Use the addy on your CR not the addy to make payments.
Tell them what took place and copy the letter that they mailed to you.Let them know that you want to PIF but only if the change the reporting.
