Verizon Wireless had posted a negative item on my Experian credit report, saying I owed $287 even though I had actually migrated my handset account to my Blackberry.
Well, I had a long talk with the representative in their recovery section and she said that happens sometimes where there is miscommunication about an account moving, rather than being closed. So they have agreed to remove the item entirely from my report. It had made my score plunge from 648 to 553. They said they would be updating with the credit agencies this weekend. My Transunion fell from 616 to 573.
I am hoping I get those points back once this is resolved.
On a grander note, my Equifax score moved from 650 to 657 over the weekend. I am not sure why, but I'm happy about it.
I want to be in the 700 club by the end of next year! At which point, I'm buying a bottle of champagne toasting a hard-won battle.
