Good Day,
Considering how frequent I use Amazon and more so now since I have no clue how long I'll be working from home I just applied yesterday for a store card while shopping on Amazon. Lat night I received several alerts from CMS and CC companies who provide TU report info that there was an inquiry, 11/15.
However, I received an email from Amazon last night that I need to call to verify additional information. Did so this morning and approved. However, I received another alert today from the same CMS that an inquiry hit my TU account. I called back and was told it would only count as one. To me it seems like 2 separate inquiries as one was on 11/15 and the other 11/16. Any idea if they are correct that it will only show as 1. I know CC inquiries are not binned so I'm a bit concerned.
@Trudy Congrats on your approval! I have not heard of Synch requiring multiple pulls of the same cr for approval. Have you pulled your TU report to verify that multiple hard inquiries were posted?
Thanks for your reply. My report provided through 2 of my CC do show 2 inquiries. It seemed clear the person I spoke with had no clue even after he put me on hold to further inquire. I've not had an INQ requested or completed on TU for over 2 years. Considering I was told by Sync (albeit not confident in their response), wonder if I can dispute 1 of these.
@Trudy Thank you for confirming. I do find it unusual that they pulled your report twice especially over identity verification.
I did some research on the forum and it appears this occurred for some people several years ago. The extra inquiry was removed and believed to be due to a system glitch.
I believe you should wait a few days to a week to see if it is removed automatically.
If not, try calling Synch and ask that they remove the second inquiry. Request to speak with a supervisor and explain the situation.
Thanks @Anonymous. Could you possibly send me a link to the thread so I can try to gather a bit more information. I was unable to locate.
@Trudy Here you go:

I searched via Google for Synchrony double pull myfico.
Thank you!
congratulations on the approval. I had this happen to me when I got it 2 years ago. Previous statement was correct in my case. I was told the 2nd HP would be removed and it was. For sure keep an eye on it though. I hope you like the card as much as I do mine.
By the way, still fighting the extra INQ.
Maybe I should start another thread but I had my reporting timing down to nearly a science until getting this card. They reported a balance shortly after reporting new account, assumed that was the close date. Paid off and reported $0, as of 12/16 (report date), assumed I figured out the actual close date since this one came with my 1st statement seemingly supporting this. Then I received an updated reported balance 12/29 due to another charge (13 days after $0 balance statement).
I'm clueless how this card reports. I heard of some cards reporting zero balances off cycle. This card seems to report every time it zero's out and every time a charge hits. I'm confused. Any rhyme or reason to this cards reporting cycle? My only statement showed a closing date of 12/16, which was zero. Then a new charge in late Dec reported????

This is typical SYNCB off-cycle reporting behavior on a variety of their CCs. For someone who may follow a strict AZEO routine, this specific tradeline may throw a wrench in optimizing results. Unless this card is selected as the "One" in the equation. Of noteworthy, these events will vary for others, meaning older [SYNCB] Amazon CCs are unlikely to have such erratic outcomes.
