TIME

I personally think that time should be of lesser importance in calculating score. I having been in US for only 7 years and am close to my 40-is. I cannot be compared with person who was born raised in US and is his 40-is... I think it is unfair to the newcomers. as we will never have the TIME to catch up. I cannot go over certain level just because "high achievers had account for 19 years on average"...., and I would need a time machine if I would have to accomplish the same. I think myFico has to reevaluate the TIME criteria, for people who are newcomers.

Thank you.

Re: TIME

FICO has what is called  "score buckets".

This is where people who meet certain criteria are placed in a certain bucket with other people who meet the same criteria.

So, you aren't necessarily being compared to people who were born/raised in the US and in the 40s.

You are being compared to people who have similar credit profiles as you, which may include people born/raised in the US and in their 40s.

Do a search on the forums for "buckets", "score buckets", "score cards", etc.

That will give you some reading material until some of the more knowledgeable people chime in.

Re: TIME

It is possible for someone in their mid to late twenties to have a score in the 800s.  I girl at work who is 26 has one.  She has been in the military for 8 years, has a mortgage and no CC debt.
