TU Revalation...

Ok, must be my day for the CRA gods to be shining upon me...

Got a call about an email sent to TU Corporate HQ this morning about  my report not changing or updating...the wonderful and very helpful CSR that my email was forwarded to called me and gave me this gem of info I  didnt know about nor would I even have thought about...

According to TU-When  your report goes into dispute status...the report will NOT update with any info other than regular monthly aging changes until the dipute is closed out...no new account balances will post,  no  util changes will be reflected, no score increase or decrease attributed to  util change, inq  etc, etc etc...

So I have been freaking out over slow growth for the past three weeks (and paying through the nose for updated reports 4 times) only just now to find this out...my dispute  end date is 3/30

Not sure if it applies as well to the other CRA's...

So, am I the only one who didnt know this stuff or am I just denser than most of the wonderful people here?

Re: TU Revalation...

Holy cow? No, I didn't know this? So, does this affect FICO too? So, what if we just filed a bunch of disputes and we are trying to close on a mortgage by 4/15? Will our credit not update until then?

Than doesn't seem right for some reason!??

I thought that credit updates were up to the minute? How can they hold off on changing your report, particularly if a creditor provides them an update?

Re: TU Revalation...

~~THUD~~

Great, the dispute I sent last week means I won't see any change for at least a month.  And all I disputed was that my BDAY was wrong (I asked 'em for my eleven months back, I don't need to appear to be older than I already am)!

I wonder if a MOV qualifies as a dispute....does anyone know?

If it does, then I'm truly sunk with two ongoing disputes with TU.

atlast....

But it is fabulous to have this information!

Thanks!

Re: TU Revalation...

Getting my bday updated has been a difficult situation, and mine is only off by 1 day!

Re: TU Revalation...

Im not sure....but  I repeated back to her what she told me..

ME: So to parpahrase it back to you  so I understand-because I initiated a dispute on 2/29 for  2-30 day and 2 60 day lates with WFNNB, every time I have checked my report to see if my Non PP's had been removed as  the OC had stated to me in  emails, that I was still seeing them there was due to the dipute and thats why they  are still listed?

SHE:  Yes. Your report does not update the same when there is a dispute.

ME:  So all the  account information  on utilization and such wil not reflect nor will an accurate score because of the dispute?

SHE: Corect- when your closed date on your dispute is up then the report will fully update and you will be sent a new report that will reflect all current information.

ME:  Does that go for the score as well?

SHE:  Yes,  would you like me to send you your score as well with the new report?

ME: YES!!!!

SO I dont know if it is different for other situations...this was just the conversation she and I had...

Re: TU Revalation...

OK, just to make sure I wasnt hallucinating and to make sure she wasnt feeding me a line....I called TU back, got another great CSR-Steve...and he said the exact same thing....that the small increases I have been seeing is due to aging...the real update will post accurately at the end of the dispute term.

I just wish I knew if it was the same for the other CRA's...but I doubt I can get through to anyone...my luck has been good today, just not that good to hold out for more....
