TU verified changed OC to wrong OC

Good Morning All, I need some advise.  I disputed an item on my TU report, the account was a collection account with Midland.  I disputed because I received something in the mail from CBCS stating that Midland hired them to collect on the account, and that I had 30 days to dispute, so I sent DV.  I the meantime I disputed Midland on my CRs as account sold.  Well TU came back verified and changed the OC from MCI Communications to some Connecticut Power company, I live in Houston, I have always lived in the South NEVER lived in the Northwest.  What should I do now?  Is there a letter I can send that will have them delete this account since they are reporting in accurately?  Also, CBCS is not reporting yet, since I have DVed them can they report without sending me the information requested in the DV?  Should I just pay them before they report?  Advise is greatly appreciated.

If Midland sold your account to CBCS, then Midland has to fold. They cannot continue to report.

CBCS can report during the initial 30 days, and if they send validation within 30 days of receiving your DV.

(We are almost neighbors and NO, I have never heard of Connecticut Power in our area!)

Re: TU verified changed OC to wrong OC

Thank you for the advise.  Do you think that I should send another dispute to TransUnion?  Since they are reporting the Connecticut Light Power?  And since they aren't reporting correctly does it have to be deleted?  Should I MOV?  I really am kind of confused.  Also what about paying CBCS before the start to report, is there a letter I should send I really don't want a NEW collections account on my report.

You can re-dispute with TU. I would break down all the reason's it's wrong.(I have had better luck picking it apart and listing multiple things, maybe someone will actually read it)

I would send MOV if they still don't investigate and remove it, since clearly we don't have Connecticut Power companies in our area. (Not even close!)

IF this is your debt, and want to pay CBCS, offer a PFD. Perhaps you can hedge them off before they report.
