Re: The end of my credit journey

THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!  I absolutely LOVE to hear success stories like this.  I am a MyFico addict and after hours (I mean HOURS) of reading these forums and the Credit 101 thread, I am still at a stump on how to go about resolving incorrect information.  Maybe you can help? Smiley Wink
Just bought all 3 of my CR from Fico and noticed that on my TU report, it shows my student loans being in default (still in school and have not even began paying = never in default!).  How did you go about disputing that?  Through your lender or through a letter/online dispute, etc.?
I am SO happy for you and I hope that I will be able to send a post like this someday.  In addition to that, I hope that I will be able to be an inspiration like YOU for someone else in the same boat!!!
Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Start by disputing with the 3 CRA's.  You can use the function on myfico that will help you write a dispute letter.  At the same time send a letter to the lender and let them know what you have found and that you want them to immediatly report it correctly.

Re: The end of my credit journey

THanks guys; I'm glad it worked out for me and I have high hopes that you all will see similar success stories in the not too distant future.

For the guy with the student loan, it has been my experience that the student loan companies are one of the easiest to work with.  They really have went out of the way, over the years, to help me.  I suggest you call them about it -- they might be able to take care of it with just a keystroke.

If I can ever be of assistance to anyone, just drop me a line!
