So, I sent a DV/SOL ltr to Allied on 3/3. They got it on 3/4 and I got the GC back on 3/6.
I get home just now and guess what's in my mailbox...you guess it - an envelope from Allied, DATED 03/03/07 (check out the "statement date") that reads:
"Your disregard of our previous correspondence is being interpreted as an unwillingness to amicably resolve this obligation. This notice has been sent to a collection agency. This is an attempt to collect a debt blah blah blah"
THEN there is a dispute paragraph that reads:
I dispute the entire/a portion of the (circle one) debt. The reason(s) for my dispute is (are): _________________. I would like to see (check the ones you wish): (1) a copy of the original contract ______; (2) copies of statement ______; (3) an itemized statement of the balance due____: follows: (describe)
Send your payment in full today; full payment now will clear your Credit record with this office. Send your payment TODAY, payable to Allied Collection blah blah blah
Ummm, DID I NOT already ask for all of this AND MORE in my initial DV ltr? And doesn't the law state that the minute they GOT my DV ltr they were supposed to notify the CRA that it's in dispute (I'm already disputing CRs with all CRAs) and were they not suppose to cease all collection efforts during this process?
OH! this is the VERY SAME TL that's a dup on my EQ and SOL exp 03/07. This acct is and has been in dispute with various agencies SINCE 2003 and the OC is about to owe me a LOT of money anyway! Violations are stacking up already.
At any rate, my question is since this is only day 3 or 4 of the 30-day DV period and they've responded with a bill (keep date in mind though CRA investigations started the week of 2/25), should I go ahead and sent another DV or should I wait until the 31st day. By then I should have the dispute results back from all the CRAs.
All help is appreciated!
