Anyone having issues with this? I've tried locking my credt report all day, but the symbol keeps showing my report as unlocked.
In my experience that means you may have a split file. I would suggest calling Transunion. Explain the issue with your credit lock and tell them you suspect you may have a split file. Most likely, the entry level representative will have no idea what you are talking about. If that's the case, ask to speak to a supervisor or to be transfered to someone that deals with split files.

It means you have more than one credit file with the same bureau. A few of my family members have had this issue. My best guess is because they have moved a lot and have many different addresses listed. They've been able to take care of it over the phone, but have had to elevate the call to a supervisor each time. Hope that helps. Good luck.
