TransUnion not allowing report updates while items are in dispute

I've noticed a trend with TransUnion not allowing any of the free services to pull your credit information while you currently have an item(s) in dispute. My paid services pull the data just fine by any of the free services you might use as a berometer don't update. CreditKarma for example hasn't been able to pull data from them since Aug 30 which is exactly when they opened a dispute.

Interesting that they are the only ones who pull this garbage.  Also, they will not allow you to pull a credit report directly through their website or through AnnualCreditReport.com

Re: TransUnion not allowing report updates while items are in dispute

Many online score providers only update monthly, so you might have to wait a few weeks to see the change. Also note that, in general, credit reports typically update every 30 – 45 days. At times when a dispute is filed some info is frozen until the investigation is completed. The exact amount of time needed to resolve a dispute depends on the nature of the information in question, and how quickly the information furnisher, not the CRA  or other company that supplied the data to the credit bureau responds to requests to verify the disputed information. Usually 30 days but can take up to 45 days.

Re: TransUnion not allowing report updates while items are in dispute

TransUnion says right on their site that you may not pull a new free report while items are in dispute. This also extends out to the free 3rd party services that use them to supply report information from my exerience multiple times. This was an informational post, not a why is this happening question.
