In speaking to a credit guy he stated that TU is more thorough than Eq and Ex and thus a more reliable barometer for auto credit. They also seem to have the most errors in their reports, at least in my case.
I have disputed all the errors but, TU definitely takes the longest and doesn't appear to make any changes as they come up. When Ex and Eq confirmed errors, they were deleted along the way before the final dispute resolution was completed. TU simply shows 3/6 done, then 4/6 etc with no change as they report. E
BTW, Eq and Ex seem to have "cleaned up" errors very nicely although Eq didn't really help my score and my Ex is unclear despite using Experiandirect.
Anyone have comments about TU being more thorough and more reliable?
Everyone has different experiences. My TU report is the most accurate. My EX report is accurate with two exceptions both of which are helping me to a small degree. They are listing a car loan that I took out August 2002 twice. They have a drop off date for another car loan which is 7 years off. EQ is by far the least accurate for me. They have deleted 6 old tradelines too early. Some have another 3 years to run some as many as 5 years. Now I know they are not obligated to keep closed tradelines for 10 years butif the others can do it why can't they. I wonder if the computer arbitrarily deletes or if they have some dude with a bad tude that takes delight in carpet bombing my credit report working over there at EQ? ![]()
TU has a tendency to lose inquiries early, so I certainly wouldn't say that they're usually the most accurate. The most consumer-friendly, perhaps. ![]()
EQ loses inquiries, although not as badly as TU. EQ is terrible for no longer reporting closed accounts long before 10 years after closure.
Experian has been the most accurate in my own experience.
But it's going to vary for everyone.
LOL I wish they would loose my BofA TL.
TU doesn't actually lose inquiries they just can't find them. Only TU pulls I have had were from Juniper and AMEX.
Given the serious impact these CRA's have on peoples' lives, it would seem there should be much greater oversight and penalties for irresponsible reports. Has onyone taken legal action against any of the CRA's? What was the outcome?
