So I know CK isn't 100% accurate but its good enough for a general idea of things and monitoring (actual score is about 20pts off). My TU keeps doing this thing where my credit increases and decreases by nearly 80 pts every 2ish weeks for no reason and I can't figure out why. I don't carry balances and my ch7 is over 2 years old now so that isn't it. I opened one new account, but that isn't going to drop my score.
The only thing I can think of is I've been dealing with this stupid AG jewelers scam in Jan (they added to account then removed the following month... I then learned it was a scam). It jumped the score initially then they removed it, but that wouldn't cause the score to keep going up and down by that much I imagine. It would also show it as a change if that was the cause, but I see literally no change in reasons listed.
I have 4 open accounts. 3 CCs and a student loan. No missed payments and I don't carry much/any balances. The only other negative I can think of is my average credit history being around 2 years with newer cards in the mix but that also wouldn't cause this activity.
Anyone have any ideas? This is very frustrating...
Are these changes occurring with your FICO scores also?
I've always noticed that Vantage scores can be extremely volatile.
But I don't think I've seen such a large continuous score change like your experiencing.
M dh's score does this lose 58 points 2 weeks later gain 53 etc. I pay zero attention to it, it's a vantage score , certainly not worth the time to worry about "those" scores.
VS 3.0 is hyper sensitive to balances. I know you said you don't carry many, however what would have 0 effect on FICO could cause some pretty nasty mood swings with the 'ol Vantage. Is there any correlation at all with your reported balances on TU and your score changes? Even a little bit? If not, then your guess is as good as mine. Just like the others said, pay it no mind. Just use CK to watch your reports and throw the score out the window for the most part.
@Ficoproblems247thanks. This sounds useful. Especially that last part in particular haha. Rather annoying but it does make me feel better knowing that I am not alone on this. Hopefully it chills out at some point.
@JnbmomThanks. This makes me feel better.
@Ficoproblems247 like "pay it no mind"...
CK like American Express' My Credit score that also uses Vantage TU - very volatile and very LOW which has wild swings - compared to my regular FICO scores that are 40-60 points higher and does not fluctutate.
I hate VS !
Nope. Declared ch7 2+ years ago now and have 3 open cards and SL. None have been late and all are near 0% utilization. Never went to collections as far as I'm aware. @Anonymous My fico is like 600 I think
@4sallypatyeah I'm just gonna ignore it from now on probably haha
