Triple threat?

Hello fico family,

I was looking at my credit report today and I realized the same accounts are posted two and three times. If an account gets transferred does the original stay on your report? Thanks a bundle

It depends.

Is this a collection? A mortgage? What is reporting and who is reporting it?

If you have a mortgage and it is sold, both the original lender's entry will appear and should state sold and the current holder will show.

If a collection, the OC can report and 1 collection agency can.

Sidewinder, could you please reteriate/confirm that? I thought the OC can't report if the a/c has been assigned to a CA and only the CA can report in that situation. Unless the OC has charged off and sold the a/c in which case both the OC and CA (JDB) can report as well.
