Subject: RE: goodwill adjustment
Marian -
The name does not sound familiar and I definitely would not use the term "goodwill adjustment". I just took a look at this account and it is paid in full and the credit bureaus have been updated. I have scheduled a paid in full letter to be mailed as of today. Hope this helps. Thank you!

My response from the Library today:
Jai,
I spoke with Melissa again at Unique Management, and what she told me is that the credit reporting agencies won't make an adjustment unless there has been an error. She says that your account with us (and with Unique) now shows Paid In Full, and that the credit reporting agencies have been updated with that information; and that it takes about a year for the collection activity to come off your credit report.
I asked if I could help you by contacting the credit bureau directly, and she said the likelihood is low, because the collection agencies have contracts with the credit bureaus that prevent them from making adjustments except in the event of error. She also said that you have had other collection activity with Unique besides this most recent instance, and that that would make it difficult to persuade a credit bureau that an error had been made.
I am still willing to make a call to TransUnion for you, but Melissa was of the opinion that I couldn't do you much good that way. If you have a number that I can call, and still want me to, I'll be happy to do so. But since they already have the updated information, I'm not sure it will change their time table of when the collection activity drops off the reports.
Best regards,
Marian Kelly
