Troubles with accessing Experian & removing freeze

I put a freeze on my Equifax and I think Experian file several years back due to compromized SS#.  In the shuffle of life, I've misplaced the pin Experian provided.

Since that time, I haven't been able to access much to do with Experian. Supposedly Annualcreditreport.com will still pull with a freeze but it won't let me for Experian.

Additionally, to reach a live person, you have to have a report number. OK. I went on Experian and ordered a report, which it provided. I had to pay for this. It did not give me a report number so I can't get past their automated system to talk to a live person. I tried starting a dispute from my report to see if it would reveal a report number and it won't even let me dispute online.

I've tried calling and going online to get the automated pin reminder but it also won't let me do that. I'm not sure what else do to or how to actually speak to a person.

Does anyone have some insight? Is this all caused by the freeze? If so, I didn't realize it wouldn't let even me do anything with my own information. Smiley Sad

I'd like to get this all resolved as we plan on applying for a mortgage in the very near future.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Troubles with accessing Experian & removing freeze

This is resolved. I was finally able to speak to a live person.

I called USAA through my CreditCheck Monitoring service and she routed me straight through.

The Experian rep couldn't explain why it wouldn't even let me dispute online or get a pin reminder though as all of my information was correct. But she was helpful and removed my freeze immediately so... one less thing to think about.
