There is a bug in TC's software that sometimes results in TU inqs falling off early with frequent pulls. Instead of fixing their software, they accuse subscribers of attempted fraud and ban them. This ban can extend to other credit monitoring services and to online access of TU credit reports, so it's certainly not anything that you would try to make happen.

I lost one inq about 5 weeks before it was due to fall off (score rose one point!), so my heart is in my mouth every time I go to pull my reports.

I pulled from TC on Monday and noticed that a 14 month old inq on TU had disappeared. I've been afraid to pull since for fear that they would ban me.

And if they did, how stupid would that be? Even though a 14-month-old inq still displays, it doesn't affect your score.

FWIW, I've pulled about a dozen times since then, and I just got in again. (fingers crossed each time)

Re: True Credit system problems this afternoon?

I don't understand the problem here. I've been with TC for 4 years and update my report just about everyday and have never had a problem. I can't see how they can lock you out, or say something is fraudulent? I think there is something else going on with whom ever is getting locked out from TC.

By the way the scores that TC show are very different than what my actual Fico score's are. There is a 50-60 point desparity between the two. Fico being the higher of the two. This really messed me up for quite some time.... I never thought I could get accepted by Amex until I saw my actual Fico scores and realized I'm really not so far away from where I need to be. I highly recommend using MyFico for all your scores.

Re: True Credit system problems this afternoon?

I don't get it either @ booboo. I signed-up for Truecredit, because I wanted to see all 3 of my CR, and since EQ had no score for me, I couldn't use myfico for score watching (now). I was very anxious so I signed-up with TC. I saw all 3 of my reports tonight (2 of which I knew already) after verifying my identity etc. Anyways they show my score with EX (the only one that has a score, because it holds on to very, very OLD info) with a 30 point difference than what I got from another website with just EX. Anyways I'd love to be able to use myfico, perhaps in a few months when I get a secured card, and clear-off some very small balances, this will be possible.

My whole point is I agree with you. Smiley Happy

Re: True Credit system problems this afternoon?

Hi, booboo --yep, TC is great for reports but terribly misleading for scores. Glad you figured out what's what! Most people on TC have had your experience, frequent pulls, no problems. But some have had problems, and some weren't even pulling that often. One of the mods here was banned after several pulls in a two-week period in response to account activity alerts that TC had sent her. She hadn't been pulling much at all other than that.

I think that's what freaks people out the most --it's completely random.

The cancellations really started after a lot of open and detailed discussions on another credit site that encouraged their members to do this. So as usual, the innocent get swept up with the guilty.

I'm lucky in that by the time my two whole inqs vanished, I had pretty well gotten past the need for near-daily pulls: I had figured out exactly when and how much each of my accounts post, and I had gotten most of my updating done. So I feel a little better that I'm down to 2 or sometimes 3 times a week, although as I said, I'm always a bit nervous.

Now if frequent pulls had made my LATES vanish, that would be a whole other story. There would have been some massive challenges to my own code of honor! Smiley Very Happy

Since the only thing you CAN do is pull your reports and the only side affect has been previously mentioned.  I have no idea of why they are banning people.  They got me butI think they got such bad press they have stopped but those that got caught up in it are just SOL.

I was actually pulling mine in response to notifications they sent me....go figure.

Now thye could say that I was defrauding the bureaus because I had sense enough not to apply for new credit til I was sure my payoffs posted but .... duh-uh!!!!  Maybe I sould have applied for new creeit when allmy cards are maxd out?

Well TU is having fun with me now because I am calling them every other week for one thing or another since they locked me out which was what I was working on in the first place so THEY have to pay for me to see my reports and not the other way around.  Funny thing is, eveytime I call they try to sign me up.... Stupid

Almost forgot, time to make my weekly TU phone call....lol
