Re: TrueCredit - How much risk in pulling too often

They blocked me from pulling yesterday, said that i was pulling too much and that could cause a problem within the CRA's system, so the CSR cancelled my service(purposely) and told me to sign up again! Well see what happens tomorrow when i pull!

On the other hand my mom could pull during the time i couldnt...so i dont know what the deal is!
Rebuilding and Reducing Debt, is my game plan.

Re: TrueCredit - How much risk in pulling too often

I have read a lot of posts from last fall about people being locked out of TrueCredit for pulling CRs daily over an (often) extended period of time....while others seem to report pulling daily and nothing happening. I fall into the latter category.

Going back to October 11th, 2007, until recently, I pulled my CRs 177 times from TrueCredit, and they never said anything...not a single time. Yes, I admit I'm a geek for pulling almost daily at times, but I was tracking stuff and it was sorta fun. Smiley Wink When I canceled it recently, they asked me to reconsider and offered me some perks in the process. Soooo...they must not mind THAT much if you pull daily.

I think the difference is that TrueCredit may have targeted people who were disputing A LOT while pulling daily reports. Notice how they basically highlighted "possible fraud" issues as a reason for their actions, even though most canceled customers vehemently denied doing anything suspect? I think they tied lots of disputing to the pulls and whacked a lot of people for it. Just a hunch, though, and I'm sure YMMV if you were whacked and didn't dispute a lot. I think I disputed a couple minor things in all that time relating to addresses and correcting contact info. Other than that; nothing.

Statistically speaking, it doesn't take a genius to realize there's probably a very high correlation between credit board participation, frequent TC pulling, and heavy disputing of CR info to "clean up" credit reports. Hence, the boards were full of stories about being canceled by TrueCredit. Eh?

I understand all of the discussion about multiple pulls, and split files, etc.
My question relates to scoring only.
Each CRA purchases their licensed FICO algorithm from FairIsaac. They then run your CR data through their licensed FICO algorithm to generate your FICO score.  Does the FICO algorithm know to look at split files at the CRA in their scoring, or do they only look at partial portions of the file?

It looks only at the portion of the file it pulls.

When someone's information is entered and they have a split file, either portion of the file could be pulled up. Portion A may get pulled one time and portion B may be pulled the next time. No way to tell.
