Two Hard Pulls by Walmart?

I was approved for the Walmart Discover a few days back, but just received my Hard Inquiry alerts from TU and Scorewatch(EQ). I must have been really borderline to pull two CR's. Real whacky thing is that:

TU hard pull was done by SYNCB- Snychrony Bank

EQ hard pull was done by GECRB.

Oh well the price you pay, hope this info helps.

Also, hats off to Scorewatch. Their credit alerts are lightning fast, and notified me of my Hard Inquiry way ahead of Credit Karma.

Re: Two Hard Pulls by Walmart?

Congrats! If you leave a small balance reporting when statement closes and ask for a CLI either from the love button or the number for GECRB Credit Solutions in the backdoor numbers it should grow quickly! Unfortunately they can pull all three credit reports if marginal.  Thanks for sharing.

Re: Two Hard Pulls by Walmart?

Thanks Cold. So maybe leave a $10 or so balance every month, and not pay in full?

Yeah, I guess I should be happy they did not pull all 3 CR's. FICO scores are pretty good, but Credit History is short.

That will work. You can use most of it just get the balance down before statement closes. I believe it's all done by computer even GECRB credit solutions. But credit solutions in some cases can override the computer unlike standard customer service. Just make sure to pay off balance by due date.

Nothing wacky about it.  GECRB became Synchrony this month.

I actually didn't know they double pulled for Wally.   It seems like that's becoming more and more common these days for lenders.
