Hi, in 2006 I lost my wallet and I called Equifax and placed a fraud alert on my account. They in turn notified Transunion and Experian. Unknown to me, the process placed a freeze on my account and thus I can't get a score from any of them.
I have tried everything possible to fix this without luck. The automated systems from Equifax sends me to the website, letters send me to the Hell know and CSC Credit, Transunion want a freeze pin which I don't have, Experian also wants a pin number I have yet to speak to a human. They all assume that I placed the freeze and until GOD says otherwise they will do NOTHING.
I have been denied a mortgage because no one can pull a score and most of the reports are a summary and no detailed information, not enough for an approval. I can't even get my own. I sent letters, send driver license copies, utility bills, SS card copies, lease contracts and ready to mail my first born without any luck and no one has a person to talk to. All the phone numbers are automated push this enter that.
I am going crazy. How can I get this removed. All the process online are phony and don't work. This has been going on for over 6 months and I lost a lot of time and a great house because of it.
by the way, Experiance solved the problem of them pesty customers, no address or phone number. The address they have are corporate office that don't do creadit reports. go figure.
HEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP.
Here is a tip I found after posting/.
I went to Equifax and signed up for the credit monerting service. Of course if failed to give me a score but gave me a phone number. I called the number and by God there was a voice. He got the account going BUT according to him I have no credit info so I got no score. Well, I have plenty and he can see it on the detailed report, years and years. Some good, some bad and some ugly but it is there. I tried to explain to him Yes, I did have a BK 6 years ago but I should have at least aa 50 score not ZERO. I actually had 690 for several years after the BK but not ZERO. My wife has the same thing and she has a 700 scroe WITH the BK. But no avail. So, I am wondering. Is there a problem with FICO?
What type(s of active credit do you have since the BK? By active that you have used ( made payments included) in the last six months like mortgage, auto or credit .cards.
Hi and welcome to the forums.
I think there is another issue going on. No matter whether it is a security freeze or a fraud alert, the consumer can still pull their own report and score.
If your account was truly frozen, the lender would not have gotten anything, other than a notification that your file was frozen. If it was a fraud alert, they could still get your credit report but they would see a statement that you may be a victim of fraud and to contact you (at a pre-determined number) before extending credit.
Also, if you have not had any active accounts in the last 6 months, you will not have a FICO score.
Thanks guys, I finally found one banker who will talk. She said that they pull 24 months of credit and that is what the score is based on. Althoug they can SEE the old credit they can't get a score . Since May 2005 I have no credit cards, no loans, no charge cards, no nothing. I pay with my debit MasterCard. This in turn generated no histoy of any kind. My assumption is that the FICO will pull ALL of my history was wrong. It is limited to a period of time. My wife who has the very exact history still had one charge card, we don't know who, that is still active. Although we don't have the plastic and have not used it whatever it is in 5 years, it is still pinging the credit histoy and giving her a history of some sort which gives her 650 score. Not much but better than mine which is ZERO.
No I have to play the catch 22, get a credit card without having credit, but I need credit to get a credit card. Smile you are in the 21st century ![]()
You can always get a secured CC. They work the same way as a normal one and are easier to get.
With 6 months of on time payments, you will have a score.
