UPDATED: Amex not reporting paid off acct?

So typically Amex reports every month on the 4th.  Pd. off acct. on the 3rd.  Still doesn't reflect a zero balance.  Is this typical or no?  No update for Jan.

Updated: Okay, so it's now Feb 10th 3cb pull from Exp.  Tu and Eq show Amex updated and Exp. still shows last months.  It's definitely Exp. being slow and not Amex.

Mine is slow this month too.  Amex, for me, usually updates within a day of the statement closing but not this month -- statement closed on the 11th and still hasn't updated.   Of course, not nearly as delayed as yours but still longer than my usual.

I guess -- hope it happens soon though.  I zeroed out a bunch of balances this month and waiting for them all to update is annoying enough so any additional delays just work my nerves lol.

Re: Amex not reporting paid off acct?

Both of my AMEX cards reported about a week late for the last (I think 2) statements.

Okay, mine updated this morning.  Funny, it shows that it updated on the 10th but as of yesterday it still showed the Dec's balance so that's a big negative on report date.  Perhaps it's Experian that's being slow.  The credit limit is still the same, which it did not update to the new credit limit, just the new balance.  That's why I'm thinking it's Exp. being slow.  The balance decrease happened about a week before the cl changed.

Same.  Updated yesterday but shows reported on the 11th.  I'm fairly certain this is an EX bureau delay and not on Amex.

Did your cl change before or after your statement cut? If after, then it wouldn't show on your reports til next statement.

Re: Amex not reporting paid off acct?

My Amex statements cut this month on the same day of the month that they usually do but a couple of them were slow to update (a few days or so). New Year's hangover at the bureaus maybe...

Re: Amex not reporting paid off acct?

@thornback yes, the cl change was after stmt cut. Thanks.

@Anonymous I haven't had a chance to check to other bureaus yet but knowing both of yours reported slowly does seem to indicate exp is the reason for the delay. Thanks.
