Hi,
Went online about a week ago & went through the process of "opening" a savings account to begin with US Bank. I received a generic secured email reply requesting docs for identification. I made PDF's of required docs, uploaded Sunday and received another email from what appeared to be a live person today advising me for the process to continue I needed to remove the freezes I have on SageStream & Innovis & alert them when this has been done. That does not seem unreasonable to me and I have nothing to hide from them.
In early 2017 I froze everything I could and opted-out etc as I had my ID stolen in late 2013 & someone apparently visited an Emergency Room & used my info??? All the knowledge I gained here was used to get try & get rid of that bill on all my reports but nothing worked. I filed a police report, gave it to EQ, TU, EX, the collection agency, the Hospital all via certified mail. A nurse friend even got me an in person meeting with the billing dept where I was able to lay everything out & seak to a person who seemed to care but it never got resolved. Eventually it fell of the 3 CRA's. Some back story.
Since the bill dropped off my reports I have opened a couple bank accounts & one credit card so I guess that was not an issue. Doubt it will be now but can anyone chime in & tell me if there is any downside to un-freezing these besides not being able to open the account with US Bank?
I briefly looked at these companies web sites earlier today & I may be able to find PIN #'s to remove the freezes. If not from what I skimmed it may be a mailing back n forth to get a new PIN. Not being lazy but wanting to do this as efficiently as possible (& being out of the Country), anyone know the way if there is one to do this without the required PIN #? The initial email from US Bank says I have 30 days or the app is removed.
Thank you everyone in advance!
If pursuing the US Bank relationship is of value, then yes you can have the SageStream freeze removed and once everything is finalized with USB, re-freeze it.
AFAIK, there's no other method to unfreeze without a current or active security PIN#. It's possible you may have to speak with a live agent at SageStream to determine if there are other viable options given your situation.
Thank you @FinStar. Have read good things on here about them so it is of value to me moving forward. I appreciate the advice; will have time tonight to try and find the PIN # & if not I will try via the phone to see if there is another viable option that will not take forever. US Bank gave me 30 days to complete the process from their first email so hoping it will be simple as "re-applying" if this takes longer than that.
Thanks again for your input.
