So here's a question:
I have USAA credit monitoring for my reports. However, I have noticed they do not show older lates, especially on their EQ and TU data. I recently had Macy's delete a 30 day late from 2009; however, neither EQ nor TU (per USAA) indicated I had any lates. (USAA EX did).
My question is: if the late didn't show before it was deleted, what is the point of checking USAA? (Yes, I expect it will show a difference on their EX data, as EX was the only report on USAA showing that late).

Thanks for any thoughts.
Every CMS out there will show the last two active years on a TL, so having a late on an open and reporting account from 2009 would be difficult to spot. The only way to spot it would be to purchase a new report directly from each CRA and that runs approx. $11/report. That's $33/day or $1000/mo. Unfortunately, having that full history is something that we have to give up on if we want a credit monitoring service like USAA's (or any other service out there...not singling out USAA). You also have to give up access to soft pulls, better demographic info, drop off dates on TU and EX, better contact info, and so on.
The reason most subscribe to a CMS is to catch new reports, to catch that recent late or that late on a TL that stopped updating years ago. We also want to see our balances, or any changes to our CL, and to track when a TL updates. And finally, tracking to see how an account reports is important too. Besides, it's cheaper than the alternative.
BTW, amending my first sentence, there are a couple of CMSs provided by Equifax.com that will provide for you a full EQ CR, full with the entire history. You can pull that daily, but you can't pull TU or EX daily, and if you could, it isn't a full report.

I have a similar issue. I have lates from 2007, and USAA CR pulls only show them on EX portion. I have confirm through real pulls purchased in myFICO that the lates in fact still exist on TU nad EQ.
Thanks, llecs.
I think I'm starting to get the hang of this "fixing my mess" thing. I have been checking USAA for balances, etc. Thought I'd find more info on there, though, but that's ok now that I know about a CMS's limitations. Looks like I'll pull my 3 full reports monthly to check the finer details. Just started with the CMS a week or so ago -
Already see something off with a balance not updating appropriately.
